The professional development of the fitness industry in the Netherlands is already on the upfront of Europe, with Fit!Vak as the industry organization, looking after the interest of the clubs on a political level and supporting government initiatives to get more people active. Also in the Netherlands more than 50% of the clubs have a club quality certification and a big network is ISO certified. Now, a few next steps are made to professionalise the Dutch fitness market. First, there will be national open examinations where all educational organisations can lead there attendees to. One national exam, open for everyone. Than, ereps is happening in the Netherlands, also a big step and ultimately recognition for trainers who keep on investing in there professional development. An other major step is the development of a national network of 450 company fitness clubs within National Health Plan. Within this network, trainers all are educated to help the costumer in a goal oriented fitness program. On the other hand, the market is growing very fast with new clubs, specially low budget clubs, forcing the regular clubs to make choices en market there USP effectively to keep the costumers.

De professionele ontwikkeling van de Nederlandse fitness markt loopt al voorop in de Europese markt. Fit!Vak als brancheorganisatie, draagt zorgt voor de belangen van de fitnessclubs op politiek niveau, maar realiseert en ondersteund ook de nationale beweeg campagnes van de overhead om meer mensen actief te krijgen. Ook zijn meer dan 50% van de Nederlandse fitnessclubs kwalitatief gecertificeerd en heeft een groot netwerk zelfs een ISO certificaat aan de muur hangen. Nu worden er een aantal nieuwe stappen genomen in de professionalisering van de Nederlandse fitness markt. Allereerst komen er nationale open examens, waar alle opleidingsorganisaties hun deelnemers naar toe op kunnen leiden. Een nationaal examen, open voor iedereen. Dan gaat ereps gebeuren in Nederland, ook een grote stap en eindelijk erkenning voor trainers die blijven investeren in hun professionele ontwikkeling. Een andere grote stap is de ontwikkeling van een nationaal netwerk van 450 bedrijfsfitness sportcentra van Nationaal Gezondheidsplan. Binnen dit netwerk worden trainers opgeleid om klanten te begeleiden in een doelgericht fitness programma. Aan de andere kant groeit de markt en het aantal sportcentra enorm, met name de low budget clubs, waardoor reguliere clubs genoodzaakt zijn keuzes te maken en hun USPs effectief te vermarkten om hun klanten te behouden.
