Today’s group meditation notes: This is just a preview of some of the techniques we will be learning and implementing in our lives with this training. Gary and I had these techniques down and I remember using the three finger technique every day in college. We had forgotten this training once we started “adulting” so use it or lose it. We will be learning proper techniques for visualizing in the upcoming training once we are able to get into alpha at a count of 5. If you want to play with visualization, put an apple or an orange on your mental screen and play with that. No pressure though. We’ll all be doing that together when the time comes and this will be in place for our Float experience. I believe that spiritual embodiment is necessary for our practice. Spiritual embodiment is the integration of soul, mind, and spirit into the physical body, treating the body as a sacred vessel rather than a barrier to spiritual growth. It involves being fully present, aware of physical sensations, and expressing spiritual truths through daily actions. It is a continuous, conscious practice that blends awareness with physical presence. Extraordinary mental functioning is simply the natural outcome obtained by controlling brainwave states and consciously directing the mind 😁🙌❤️ José Silva, the founder of the Silva Method, discovered that by lowering brainwave frequencies from the active Beta state (14-21 Hz) to the more relaxed Alpha state (7-14 Hz), the brain becomes more receptive to receiving, storing, and retrieving information. Silva’s research into this area stemmed from his background as an electronics repairman, where he applied the principles of electrical resistance to the human brain. Key Findings in Silva's Research: Lowering Resistance: Silva hypothesized that if he could reduce the "resistance" in the brain (slowing brainwaves), it could act more like an efficient circuit, allowing for higher information storage. The Alpha State Advantage: Using techniques that eventually became the Silva Method, he found that when in the Alpha level (a state of "relaxed awareness"), the mind can store more information, leading to better memory, enhanced learning, and improved recall. Initial Discovery with Children: While experimenting with his children to improve their school performance in the 1940s, he discovered that, under hypnosis-induced relaxation (lowered frequencies), they could memorize vast amounts of information. Conscious Control: Silva later developed techniques to train individuals to enter this state consciously, without losing consciousness as in hypnosis or sleep, allowing them to utilize this heightened mental capacity at will. This finding is the cornerstone of the Silva Method, which uses guided meditation and visualization to train people to operate at the Alpha level for enhanced memory, creativity, and problem-solving. I confirmed for myself today that the cool body feeling I had been experiencing is directly connected to this breathwork. I skipped the breathwork for 3 days and noticed the feeling was gone today after being there for 4 days. I only got it back after 8 minutes of group meditation when my numbers went past 10 and stayed there. Now the chill feeling is back. I associate it with connecting with my inner being and stimulating the brainstem Interesting: Interoception and Emotional Connections: These cold feelings are considered a form of "interoception"—the brain's monitoring of the body's internal state. They are often linked with the brain's reward system, which can interpret a sudden "cooling" or "shiver" as a positive, pleasurable experience. Vagus Nerve Involvement: Stimulation of the vagus nerve, which originates in the brainstem, can also lead to a general calming of the body and sometimes a release of sympathetic energy, which might be experienced as a cooling or refreshing sensation.
